What is Digital Manufacturing?

Digital Manufacturing is the use of computer-based 3D designs of mechanical objects to create products with high-level of precision and accuracy by either subtracting material out of a block of metal or plastic (Subtractive Manufacturing – e.g. Computer Numeric Computing – CNC) or by adding material layer-by-layer to build the final product out of metal or plastic (Additive Manufacturing – e.g. 3D Printing).

What is On Demand Manufacturing?

On-Demand manufacturing the process where mechanical parts are only made when they’re needed and usually in small quantities. On-Demand manufacturing looks at making products when there is a demand rather than the traditional manufacturing method of making products and stocking them in warehouses based on forecasts.
